No Hevdem
No Hevdem is a new collective of artists connecting Sonorities Festival Belfast with SPACE21 in Kurdistan-Iraq.
Sonorities Festival Belfast and SPACE21 began an inter-festival collaboration in 2022 to exchange artistic programmes, including live performances, workshops and artistic research activities.
This collaboration aims to establish long-term projects involving both Sonorities and SPACE21 to support local artists and promote local audience development in and across both locations, with a particular focus on experimental music, improvisation and sound art practices.
In 2023, the festivals commissioned a selection of artists to develop work through remote collaboration, which has since resulted in the No Hevdem collective.
