BIO

Georgios Varoutsos is a sonic and media artist, researcher, and educator from Montreal, based in Belfast. His interdisciplinary practice blends sound, digital media, and
anthropology, often creating works that act as sonic portraits of environments and experiences.

With a PhD in Sonic Arts from Queen’s University Belfast’s SARC, he has developed soundwalks, spatial audio pieces, and audio-visual projects exploring memory, identity, and urban spaces. Drawing on backgrounds in Electroacoustic Studies and Anthropology, Georgios invites audiences to reflect on their environments in new ways, promoting connection, cultural exchange, and the transformative impact of listening.
