‘Ancestors Walking’ is a sound walk, a workshop, and a performance at the same time, which highlights the meditative quality of the sound-walking practice.

Meet in the SARC foyer.

Bring a device which can download/play/stream audio files, alongside your headphones/earphones, accompanied by an open mind, ready to take in the soundscape of our contemporary lifestyle with different ears – with borrowed ears even.

We will walk together on a circular route from SARC going north, and arriving back at where we started. During the walk, we will tap into our imagination, and let our minds go on a time-travel, so as to sonically relate to our immediate surrounding through the aural perception of our ancestors and future descendants. Through this gentle, contemplative, and fun sonic exercise, we may envision what we could do as individuals in order make our society to be a better place to grow up and live in, and protect our planet from its pre-mature demise, as currently predicted. The walk will be accompanied and/or intervened by a guiding voice which will be accessed through the pre-sourced audio files.
