BIO

Anna-Kaisa Meklin is a versatile musician and composer/performer who plays the viola da gamba and the organ. Her projects often bridge the gap between different musical genres, such as early music and contemporary music. She is interested in collective processes and the question of responsibility towards the environment and the audience.

In her works for the viola da gamba in particular, she explores a wide range of sounds from the instrument’s history, such as melody fragments, wood sounds and noises. She has received composition commissions from Duo Bondi-Alvear and the Mondrian Ensemble. She is a certified Deep Listening facilitator.
