BIO

Dr Susannah Knights is an anthropologist and ethnomusicologist whose research looks at the interlinks between politics, sound and music in postcolonial Tunisia. Her research focuses particularly on the formation of sonic media archives in the city of Tunis, and the unequal flows of music, musicians and materials between Tunisia and Europe.

After completing her PhD at the Music department of King’s College London, she held an ESRC/NINE postdoctoral research fellowship in the Anthropology department at Queen’s University Belfast, where she is also affiliated with the Centre for Creative Ethnography.
