Festival ’24 Open Call – Exhibitions / Installations

Sonorities welcomes proposals for art exhibitions and installations that incorporate sound and listening as a key element.

There will be a limited number of exhibition spaces at the key festival site of SARC and at external galleries partnering with Sonorities at other locations around Belfast during the festival. Participating artists must be present on-site during the festival to set up, operate and take down their installation.

For technical production of exhibitions and installations, Sonorities can help with provision of loudspeakers, stands and computer for playback. Other equipment and any physical construction must be provided by the artist.

To apply, please submit a proposal (in PDF format) by 31st August 2023 containing:

Artist name
Title and description of proposed work
Image(s) and/or diagram(s) of proposed work
Web-links to relevant audio/video documentation
Technical requirements, indicating what you will provide and what you expect Sonorities to provide

Please also supply a short programme note (up to 200 words), a short bio (up to 100 words), at least one promo image, and optionally a link to your artist website or other online material that could be used for promotional purposes.

Note: a limited number of £250 bursaries will be made available to all artists presenting exhibitions/installations to help with associated costs of presenting their work at the festival. Sonorities can also provide a letter of support to assist with funding applications.
