Bio
Tom Hughes is an artist from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He has created many projects exploring the relationship between sound, film and dance including: Lark (2022), co-directed by Jennifer Rooney, commissioned by NI Screen; In. At. If. (2020), with Maeve McGreevy, commissioned by Maiden Voyage Dance. Tom and Maeve have a collaborative relationship with Blue Whale, including the video for their single Jack Irons (2015) and a multi-film visual accompaniment to their upcoming album Last Immediate Images, funded by Arts Council NI.
His ongoing project with Paul Fox, Black Triptychs explores improvisation in electronic acoustic music. Black Triptychs released their debut album in November 2023.
