Marcos Stuardo is a Chilean-British composer based in the United Kingdom. He obtained his Licenciatura en Composición with the Highest Distinction at Universidad de Chile under the tutelage of Andrés Maupoint. He completed his PhD in Music at King’s College London, where he studied with Professor Silvina Milstein.

Marcos’ music is constantly performed in Latin America and Europe. His compositional research has led him to write pieces that explore his personal expressiveness and compositional possibilities in light of his free use of tonality, modality, and serialist techniques. As a result, his works can be sensed as mildly atonal without completely abandoning references to tonality and the tonal implications of the pitches he uses.

Marcos is a Music Tutor at the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts and a Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London.
