Quills That Whisper

Quills That Whisper is a micro sounding label that focuses on the ways of storytelling with the audio as the main artistic medium. It is also an on-going project to archive and promote the various methods in which artists explore the practice of oral storytelling within sound-based arts. The label has published bespoke solo and group releases in digital and physical formats that at times correspond with each other. Founded by Una Lee in 2019, the label has produced, among others, the first album of Belfast-based experimental ensemble HIVE Choir ‘Songs and Games’ and a pandemic-driven compilation ‘Not Going Home’ exploring personal stories around disruptions in international travel featuring such artists as Emily DeDakis, Lenka Davidikova and Jihye Kim, connecting East Asia, Europe and North America.
