Bio

Lisa Conway is a Swiss-Canadian composer, sound artist, songwriter, producer, and mix engineer. A graduate of the MA in Sonic Arts from Queen’s University Belfast, she is now based in Montréal, pursuing an individualized PhD at Concordia University.

Helena is a sound and visual artist based in Belfast NI, she is currently completing a PhD at SARC, QUB. Her research focuses on art practices between digital and physical environments that negotiate the relationship between the sonic and visual. Helena has previously exhibited and performed in both gallery spaces and contemporary music/sound festivals nationally and internationally.

Helena and Lisa met a decade ago while both in the MA in Sonic Arts program at SARC, bonding over troubleshooting Max patches. In the years after graduating, they have each continued to expand their respective sound and visual practices – exhibiting, performing, and attending residencies internationally, before returning to academia for further doctoral research.
