Katherine Lee is a Hong Kong composer and performer based in the UK, specialising in experimental and electronic music and guzheng.
She explores subtle sonic possibilities in instruments, objects, and space, contrasting delicate textures with moments of intensity. Her work examines sound as a tool for reflection, cultural identity, and human rights, engaging both listening and visual perception.
Drawing on her cross-cultural background, Katherine blends Asian traditions with contemporary Western practices to create a unique musical language. Many projects are site-specific, using architecture, spatial dynamics, and audience placement to create immersive, reflective experiences.
